An updated version of main.py is now available! You can choose between main.pyjp for the Japanese UI and main.pyen for the English UI. Simply rename the version you want to use to main.py and overwrite the file distributed earlier.

The main reason for this update is to simplify the process of creating and maintaining files. In particular, missing documentation updates during regeneration can cause problems, so this approach helps reduce the risk of mistakes.

The main highlight is an option for users who prefer Llama 3.1 8B over Gemma4!

The K2 version, which only translates Japanese into English, was originally included as a test for this purpose. If you decide to use it, be sure to review the official license:

For safety, it’s also a good idea to clearly state that Llama 3.1 is being used. Leaving out any mention of the model could potentially cause trouble later.

When Gemma4 gets bogged down during processing, Llama 3.1 8B may be preferable for users who value responsiveness over translation quality or accuracy. This can be a good option if your speech is relatively clear.

Either way, neuron consumption is quite low, so even using it for more than half a day should be fine under the free allowance of 10,000 neurons per day.
